Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the Guiding Catalogue for the First Batch Application Demonstration of Key New Materials (2019 Edition). The composite ceramic functional material for high-performance engine cylinder liners has been included in the catalogue. Its performance requirements are specified as follows: the penetration depth of the ceramic alloy layer shall be no less than 10μm, tensile strength no less than 330MPa, hardness no less than 300HB, reduction in friction coefficient no less than 10%, and reduction in engine friction work of the cylinder liner mating pair no less than 5%. Application fields: engines and internal combustion engines.
