The on-site inspection of the 7875kg DZ-14 high-holding power anchor manufactured by Chongqing Xinye Ship Parts Co., Ltd. for H2649, the lead ship of Maersk Line's 2200TEU container vessel series, has been successfully completed and accepted recently.
The high-holding power anchor supporting H2640, the first vessel under Maersk Line's 2200TEU container ship project, was inspected by Chongqing Branch of China Classification Society (CCS). To guarantee product quality, after communicating with Chongqing Xinye Ship Parts Co., Ltd., surveyors from the Chongqing Branch sorted out all key process nodes, verified and approved the validity of drawings and technologies, and jointly formulated a special inspection and test plan tailored for this project together with the factory. They elaborated on links prone to defects including appearance, welding repair, mechanical properties and non-destructive testing, and strictly supervised critical quality control points throughout the production process.
Subsequently, surveyors from the Chongqing Branch, together with the shipowner's representative of A.P. Moller - Maersk Line, carefully verified each item on site one by one, including the visual and dimensional inspection, weight inspection, drop test, hammering test, tensile test, free balance test, MT inspection, UT inspection and mechanical property test of the high holding power anchor. During the entire inspection process, the shipowner's representative raised numerous questions, all of which were answered by the surveyors from a professional perspective. Upon the completion of the final inspection item, the DZ-14 high holding power anchor successfully passed acceptance. The shipowner's representative expressed great satisfaction with the product quality and affirmed that the inspections conducted by CCS were highly professional and thorough.
